NJIT
Electrical and Computer Engineering Undergraduate Laboratory
ECE 494 - Electrical Engineering Laboratory III

Part B - Semiconductor Devices

Introduction

The objective of this laboratory is to enhance your knowledge of the basic semiconductor devices with hands-on experience, by measuring their basic characteristics. The four series of experiments include: measurements on diodes, a silicon solar cell, and two types of transistors (BJI and MOSFET). The background for these experiments is provided in the course on semiconductor devices (ECE 374), which is a prerequisite for this laboratory. Some simulation assignments in this course are directly related to the physical measurements that are conducted in the laboratory. Therefore, notes and problem solutions from the course may be a valuable material for review before the laboratory sessions. In addition, textbook references are given for each series of experiments.
